COLORADO CITY — Connie Rudelle Firenza Wilson, formerly of Big
Spring, was born on August 14,1943, in Wichita Falls to Frank J. and Rudelle
(Wright) Fircnza. She passed away on May 3, 2013, in Lubbock after a brief illness.

She attended schools in Olney and Magargle, before transferring to Coahoma
High School for her senior year. After one year at Texas Women's University, she
began her career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Big Spring as
an operator and service representative until she could retire. After retiring, she
totally changed her career path taking classes at Howard College to become a
registered nurse, and in 1989 earned her BSN from West Texas State University
in Canyon. Connie worked in hospitals specializing in critical and cardiac care
in Big Spring and Murfreesboro, Tennessee, before retiring as a charge nurse
from the Big Spring VA Hospital after almost 20 years of service. She was an
animal lover, a voracious reader, and a lifelong student. She enjoyed cooking,
gardening and being a "granny".

Connie is survived by one daughter, Dona Byerley; two grandchildren, Andrea Zongi and her fianci, Cory Robataille and Joseph "Zefp Zonghi and his fiance, Shelby Austin, who are expecting Connie's soon-to-arrive great-granddaughter; and her husband, B H Wilson. She is also survived by three brothers, Frankie Firenza, Raymond Fircnza and David Fircnza, and one sister, Judy Carver and
numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date in Colorado City.
