Louisa Dunsford Taylor Burge was born 18 Jul 1842 in Frome, Somersetshire, ENGLAND, the first daughter of Thomas Burge (abt 1819-1887) and Frances Ryall Taylor (1816-1867). She was christened 23 Jul 1842 at Holy Trinity Church in Frome. The family included her brother James Burge, sister Frances (1850-1942) and brother John Thomas Burge who died as an infant in about 1844 or 1845.
Louisa's father was a corn dealer in 1841 (UK Census) and general laborer (1861). By 1871, Thomas Baldwin and family were living in Garnddyris, Monmouthshire, WALES, an iron foundry, with Frances and Haman Baldwin. Louisa was a house keeper at that time.
Louisa emigrated to the US with her father in about 1880 and settled temporarily in western PA near Pittsburgh, and shortly thereafter moved to the New Rock area, near Bourbon, MO to farm. Haman Baldwin and family moved to the same area in 1881. Louisa cared for her father until he died in 1887 and later became a nurse.
Louisa died of a stroke 21 Mar 1912 and was buried 23 Mar 1912 in New Rock Cemetery.
