William Gavinski, 84, Hatley, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Homme Home of Wittenberg, under the care of AseraCare Hospice.

He was born on January 18, 1929, in Bevent, WI, the son of the late Frank and Julia (Stanke) Gavinski. On July 16, 1955, Bill was united in marriage to Alice Johnson at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. She preceded him in death on January 27, 1997. Bill was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Elderon Memorial Post #8068 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Bill was employed by the Ladish Corp., Cudahy, and retired from Unit Drop Forge Co., West Allis. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Wittenberg and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his loving son and best friend, David (Cindy) Gavinski, Wauwatosa; one sister, Irene Easker, Weston a brother Norman Gavinski, Bevent, and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, William was preceded in death by five brothers, Lawrence, Chester, Raymond, Joe and Donald.

The family wishes to thank the Homme Home of Wittenberg CBRF and AseraCare Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 9AM until the time of services at the church.

The Funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. Rev. Amy Meyer will officiate.

Interment will be in Evergreen Rest Cemetery, Elderon with military rites conducted by the VFW.
