Our beloved mother Ramona Noriega Torres of Richmond left peacefully this earth after a lengthy illness the evening of April 26, 2013 surrounded by her children, grandchildren and other family members.

Ramona was born to Tomas and Rafaela Noriega on September 26, 1929 in Rosenberg and was raised in the Rosenberg, Richmond Area.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her children and especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a true homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family and her husband of 63 years. She also enjoyed sewing for her girls, cooking for her family and having family get togethers at her house. She enjoyed going shopping, dancing and playing Bingo on Wednesday nights.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Mike Torres, her parents, Tomas and Rafaela Noriega, sisters, Lala Bijarro, Benita Calderon, Altagracia Noriega, brother, Manuel Noriega, son-in-law, John Torres Jr. and grandsons, Jason Torres and Angel Gutierrez.

Ramona is lovingly survived by her daughters, Helen Torres, Nora Torres, Ester Mata and husband Roy, Linda Gutierrez and husband Daniel and son Rudy Torres and wife Melissa, sister, Antonia Castillo and husband Guillermo and brother Julio Noriega and wife Santos and numerous nieces and nephews, 18 grandchildren, Beverly Waddle and husband Stephen, John Torres and wife Kathy, Aaron Torres and wife Valarie, Mark Torres and wife Alma, Michael Torres, Melissa and Alyss Mata, Jacob Mata and wife Whitney, Brian Gutierrez and wife Morgan, Danielle and Cory Gutierrez, Christopher, Brandon and Matthew Torres, Brandi Esquivel and husband Nestor, Christopher and Dayvid Bauman, 16 great grandchildren, Ashton and Michael Waddle, Crystal Gordon and husband Scott, Timothy, Lexie and Cody Torres, Matthew, Emily, Jose and Fernando Torres, Maize, Eva and Parker Mata, Olivia Gutierrez, CJ, Jasmine Torres and Aubrie Esquivel and 3 great great grandchildren, Jade, Jax and Gabby Gordon.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons; John, Aaron, Mark and Michael Torres, Brian and Cory Gutierrez, Jacob Mata and Brandon Torres. Honorary Pallbearers are Ashton Waddle and Christopher Torres.

The family would like to especially thank Resolutions Hospice, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Doctors and nurses. Dr. Holmsten, Dr. Agu, Dr. Henry, Dr. Desai and Dr. Raizen for taking care of her so lovingly. We also thank Diana Gutierrez for espiring prayers.

Our family matriarch is gone in soul and spirit, but she will always live in our hearts. She is now with her husband. Her children, grandchildren and family members will cherish her memory forever.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg with Father William Bartniski officiating. Burial will follow in San Gabriel Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, April 29, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the chapel at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home with a vigil service at 7:00 P.M. with deacon Billy Guerrero officiating.
