Harder, Richard M. of Fort Lauderdale, FL passed away Friday, October 10, 2003. He was born in Syracuse, New York and moved to Florida in 1954. He was a graduate of the University of Miami class of 1951; also a veteran of World War II. Mr. Harder was a stock broker and president of a bank. After he semi-retired he worked for St. Ambrose Catholic Church and Pope John Paul High School. His memberships included: former vice-president, treasurer of the Jaycees, also former president of Aib, Civitan, Knights of Columbus, Elks, American Legion and St. Vincent De Paul.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years Mary (Jean); five loving children: Richard M. Harder (Maria), Jr. of Rye Brook, New York, Mary Harder and Cathleen Stephani of Fort Lauderdale, FL, John of Orlando and Timothy of Deerfield Beach; his adored grandson, Dwayne Stephani; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Lucy Harder and his sister Mary Lou Spratt.

Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 14 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church at a time to be announced. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society or St. Vincent De Paul Society will be deeply appreciated.
