Mr. Windholz had lived in Salina about 30 years. He retired in 1970 from the maintenance department at St. John's Hospital. He was a member of the Catholic Church and the Salina Eagles Lodge.
Survivors included the widow, Seraphine; sons, Kenneth J. and Orval L. Windholz; 5 brothers, Albert, Daniel, Alphonse, Ferdinand and Hubert Windholz; 6 sisters, Mrs. Clara Rome, Mrs. Mary Pfeiffer, Mrs. Anna Meier, Mrs. Albertine Pelzel, Mrs. Elizabeth Graff and Ida Windholz: 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Salina -- A former Hays man, Ben Windholz, 65, died Thursday at Salina.
Surviving are his wife, Seraphina, of the home; two sons, Orville and Kenneth, both of Salina; five brothers, Albert and Daniel, both of Hays, Alphonse and Fred, of Wichita, and Hurbert, Dallas; six sisters, Clara Rome and Elizabeth Graf, Denver, Mary Pfeifer, Alberta Pelzel and Annie Meier, Hays, and Ida Riddle, Dallas, and eight grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Otto, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Windholz.
The funeral was at 11 a.m. Monday at the Salina Cathedral and burial was in the Salina Cemetery.
