Ofelia 'Effie' Artana, 6-23-1937 - 5-10-2012, resident of San Jose. It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Ofelia "Effie" Artana on May 10, 2012. Our loss has left her family and friends saddened as she was an incredibly giving and loving person. Effie is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert Artana, her four daughters and their husbands Debbie and Glenn Hilpert, Gina and Jim Billings, Lisa and Jason Hauck and Myra and Adam Leslie; grandchildren Cory and Christopher Hilpert, Alyssa Hilpert-Hagan, husband Andy and their son Drew, Adam and Sarah Billings, Jessica and Ben Pizzo, Kyla Hauck and Dylan and Braden Leslie. Effie also leaves behind many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and close friends who will miss her deeply. Her kindness and giving spirit will be forever missed. A Rosary service was held on Monday, May 21 at 7 PM at Oak Hill Cemetery, Chapel of the Roses, in San Jose. The funeral was held on Tuesday, May 22 at 9:30 AM at St. Christopher's Church.
