SIDNEY — Eleanor Gladstone, 85, of 6 Smith St., Sidney, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, Sept. 24, 2001, at The Hospital, Sidney.
She was born Sept. 2, 1916, in Hartford, Conn., the daughter of the late Lee and Georgia Jones Wannemacher.
On Feb. 7, 1942, Eleanor married Richard Gladstone in Walton. He predeceased her on Sept. 3, 1966.
For several years she was employed by Don D'Imperio's Grocery and Sub Shop of Sidney. Mrs. Gladstone retired from The Hospital, Sidney, in January of 1979.
Eleanor was an active member of the United Methodist Church, Sidney.
She is survived by several cousins, Irwin Waring, Helen Hoffman and Alberta Davis. She is also survived by numerous close friends, Nina Panaro, Darlene Faigle, Francis and Agnes Faigle, Star Hedman, Bea Wayman and Jane Roselle.
Her sister, Vivian Stidd; and her closest friend, Elizabeth Robertson predeceased her.
Funeral and committal services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, from the C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney, with the Rev. David Masland, pastor of her church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Walton Cemetery, Walton.
At Eleanor's request there will be no calling hours.
