He was born Feb. 1, 1913, in Meckling and attended Meckling Grade School. He married Ova M. Case on Jan. 3, 1932, in Yankton. He farmed and worked at the U.S.D. Animal House for 18 years, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion.
His survivors include his wife, two sons, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, seven step-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren, and a sister.
Services begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion.
Burial will be in Bluff View Cemetery.
There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Monday at Iverson-Siecke Funeral Home in Vermillion.
