Mrs. Eleanor Bergdahl Townsend, of Walterboro, a retired school teacher, entered into our precious Savior's Heavenly Kingdom May 6 in Lawrenceville, GA.

Mrs. Townsend was a daughter of the late Emil Jansson Bergdahl and Cora Moore Bergdahl.

She attended Ohio State University and was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Circle #2 and was a former Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Townsend was also a Girl Scout's leader, a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma, the Tea & Topics Club and the Garden Club.

Eleanor was a former 5th grade teacher for John C. Calhoun Academy (now Colleton County Prep) in Walterboro, SC.

She was the widow of Percy W. Townsend and surviving are: two daughters, Elizabeth T. Sanders of Tucker, GA, and Patricia T. Hall of North Andover, MA; a sister, Patricia B. O'Toole of Sun City, AZ and three grandchildren, Laura E. Sanders, Ashley R. Sanders and Steven H. Sanders, III.
