Hannah (Sampson) Bosworth was born abt. 1757 and died probably shortly after 1820. Exact date of death and location of burial are not known at this time.

Hannah was very likely the daughter of Jonathan Sampson and Deborah (Bradford) Sampson. It was well known that Jonathan and Deborah had amongst their seven known children a daughter Hannah. Unfortunately, it appears the parents failed to register the births of their children with the town clerk's office, with the exception of the youngest child, Sylvia.

Siblings:

Elisha Sampson
Ephraim Sampson
Deborah (Sampson) Gannett
Nehemiah B. Sampson
Sylvia (Sampson) Cushman

Per the V/R of Halifax, Mass. to year 1849, Benjamin Bosworth was married to Hannah Sampson "both of Halifax" on April 10, 1785, in Halifax, and joined in marriage by the Rev'd. Mr. Ephraim Briggs.

The 1790 U.S. Census recorded Benjamin and Hannah Bosworth as living in Halifax with two daughters and one son.

The 1800 U.S. Census recorded Hannah Bosworth as head of household, a widow, with five of the six children living with her in Halifax.

When Benjamin's father John Bosworth died in 1801, the provisions of his will were administered by Benjamin's brothers David and William. On Aug. 1, 1802, there was a division of the Real Estate, and at that time, a one-sixth share was given to the "heirs of Benjamin Bosworth."

On April 12, 1802, Hannah asked that David Bosworth of Halifax be appointed guardian to her six children, and Sarah and Jonathan being above 14, joined in the request. On April 13, 1802, David and William Bosworth, yeomen, younger brothers of Benjamin, along with Moses Tomson "gentlemen" gave bonds. On January 3, 1807, the three older children above 14, Jonathan, Susanna & Benjamin, made the choice of Obadiah Lyon of Halifax to be their guardian.

Per the 1820 U.S. Census, Hannah was living in the South Parish of Bridgewater, Mass., with only her daughter Susanna with her. Susanna was 31 years old at the time, and she was married the next year to her first cousin Ephraim Sampson.

Per the Vital Records of Halifax, Plymouth County, Massachusetts to year 1849, Births, Benjamin and Hannah had six children:

Sarah (Bosworth) Hayward Parris (1785–1878)
Jonathan Bosworth (1787-unk.)
Susanna (Bosworth) Sampson (1789–1844)
Benjamin Bosworth (1791–1871)
