Fred Myers Clovis, 70, retired department store salesman, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 4 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 1957, at his home, 1070 West High street, Waynesburg. He had not been in the best of health lately, but his death was quite unexpected.
Born April 25, 1886 at Jollytown, he was a son of the late Jacob and Athaliah Eakin Clovis and spent most of his life in the Jollytown community. He was a member of the Jollytown Methodist Church. Before his retirement he was employed as a salesman for the Boggs & Buhn department store in Pittsburgh.
He was never married and his only surviving relatives are one brother, Owen L. Clovis of Santa Ana, Calif., two nieces and one nephew. Two brothers are deceased.
