Married (1) James W. Payton Oct 22, 1882 and (2) Hiram C. Carpenter Feb 9, 1900.

Death certificate in my possession shows her to be buried at Liberty Cemetery.

"The 1860 Census for Hazelwood, Webster Co., Mo. shows that her parents were Thomas George (43) and Darcus George (35) and "Melvina George" was "1/365" year old or less than a month old. Her siblings were Thomas J (15), Elisabeth (12), Jacob L (10), John W (6), and James (3).

The 1870 Census for Hazelwood, Webster Co., Missouri shows that her father was Thomas O George (53). Her mother had passed away in 1866 and her father married
Mary Allred in 1867. Her step-mother, Mary (43), is the wife and "Melvina J George" is 10 years old in the 1870 Census. Siblings are John (16), James (13), Nathaniel (7), and William (5).

The 1880 Census for High Prairie, Webster Co., Missouri shows her father is Thomas O. George (62) and his wife is Mary (52) and Melvina is 20. Siblings are Nathanel (17) and William (15). There is also a James H. George (53) living in the home who is a brother to Head of House (Thomas O. George), "With Out Occupation," and "divorced."

The 1900 Census for High Prairie, Webster Co., Missouri gives her name as "Jane M. Carpenter" age 40. She had married Highram Carpenter on 09 Feb 1900 in Webster Co. Missouri and he is the Head of the House in the 1900 Census. This was her second marriage. She had married James W Payton on 22 Oct 1882 and they had four children before he passed away in 1893. Her children with Mr. Payton; Elizabeth Payton (16) , Mary Payton (14), Sintha Payton (12), and John W. Payton (9) are living with their mother and step-father in the Highram Carpenter home .

Highram Carpenter had passed away in 1909. They had two children: Jessie Elva Carpenter born in 1909 who died in infancy and James Clay Carpenter who was born in 1903

The 1910 Census for, High Prairie, Webster Co., Missouri shows that "Jane Carpenter" (47) is widowed and living with her sons "James" W Payton (19) and James C Carpenter (7)."
