He received his funeral director licence in 1936 and formed a partnership with his father George M. McCrory & Sons Funeral Home.
Survivors includes his wife of 57 years , Ruth Dreyer McCrory, and a great-niece Gale McCrory, who made her home with him. Additional survivors are a nephew Richard A. McCrory; two great-nephews, Howard W. McCrory II and Victor M. McCrory; two great-nieces, Rebecca Humbert and Nancy Wooley.
