Howard Wilson McCrory, 82, a lifelong resident of Fayette City and funeral director in the community for 61 years, died Nov. 8, 1997, in Mercy Hospital Pittsburgh.
He was born Jan. 6, 1915, in Fayette City, a son of George M. and Nancy Pierce McCrory.
He received his funeral director licence in 1936 and formed a partnership with his father George M. McCrory & Sons Funeral Home.
Survivors includes his wife of 57 years , Ruth Dreyer McCrory, and a great-niece Gale McCrory, who made her home with him. Additional survivors are a nephew Richard A. McCrory; two great-nephews, Howard W. McCrory II and Victor M. McCrory; two great-nieces, Rebecca Humbert and Nancy Wooley.
