Sherman G. Freeman
Sherman G. Freeman, 31, 1308 Sixth street west, died at 3 p.m. yesterday, shortly after his arrival at the sanitarium at Fort Lyons, Colo.; where he had ben taken for government hospitalization for tuberculosis Freeman formerly was a mail carrier in the postoffice here, and was a veteran of the world war.
Freedman had been in ill health for seven months and had been under treatment in a local hospital five weeks.
Deceased was born May 5, 1898, in Waterloo, and had resided here all his life except the two years he was in the service. He was graduated from East High school in 1916, and enlisted in the army at the age of 19. At the close of the war he entered the employ of the postal service as mail carrier. He was forced to give up his work several months ago on account of illness.
He married Miss Verna Crown in 1923. Freeman was a member of First Methodist Episcopal church.
Surviving besides his widow are three children, Jay, 6, Oliver, 3, and Roger, 14 months; also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Freeman, 422 Sixth street west, and one sister, Mrs. M.L. Gleason, Jesup.
The body will be brought to Petersen Bros.’ mortuary.
