Thomas Foley, a bachelor, a Clerk, of 29 Lamb Alley, son of Patrick Foley, a Merchant, and Charlotte Barrett, a spinster, of Fownes Buildings, daughter of William Barrett (living), a Shop Assistant, were married in 1 June 1900, at SS Michael & John's Church, Lower Exchange Street, Dublin.

In the 1911 census, the Foley family were living at 5, Ashfield Park, Terenure, Dublin.

They were passengers on board The Leinster, which was sunk by two torpedoes whilst enroute from Kingstown [now Dun Laoghaire] to Holyhead, Anglesey, Wales, on the morning of 10 October 1918. They were travelling to visit her brother, Private Christopher Barrett, in hospital in Birmingham, who had been severely wounded in France. He died of his injuries three days later.

Charlotte's body was recovered and buried in Glasnevin Cemetery.
Cemetery records note that she was said to be 38 years old. Her grave is unmarked.
It is understood that at their death, they had 10 children.
