Mrs. Louisa Stephens Shanks, wife of the late Solomon Shanks, departed this life March 27, 1924. She was a conscientious wife and mother, and a member of the Baptist Church since early girlhood. She leaves eight children to mourn her departure; three boys and five girls; John Shanks of Olds, Alta, Canada; Finis Shanks, Madison, Kan.; Frank Shanks, Marble Hill; Mrs. Rose, Ellen and Mary Crader and Mrs. Lucy Whitebread of Marble Hill, and Miss Ida Shanks of St. Louis. She had thirty-nine grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. T.H. Jenkins after which the remains was placed to rest in the Bailey Graveyard.
