Margurite J. Buechler, age 89, a resident of Evergreens of Moorhead, Minnesota, passed away Monday, February 6, 2012, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo.

Margurite Jeanette McConville was born in Lisbon, ND on May 16, 1922 to Dennis J. and Selma "Etta" (Lund) McConville. Margurite lived on a farm and attended school near Buttsville, ND for two years before her family moved to Glyndon, MN in 1929. They later moved to Barnesville where she attended school. On March 29, 1941 she was united in marriage to Alden J. Anderson in Rothsay. They established their home in Barnesville where they owned and operated Stand-by Food Market. In 1968, Margurite married Charles Buechler and they made their home in Jamestown, ND. Charles passed away in 1969. After his death, Margurite moved back to Barnesville. She worked for Johnson Brothers from 1970 to 1985 and also at the Barnesville VFW, Barnesville Senior Citizens Center and the American Legion, Fargo, ND. In 1995 she moved to Parkview Terrace, Moorhead and in 2008 moved to Evergreens of Moorhead.

She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. One of her greatest joys was traveling and she also enjoyed painting and her cats.

Margurite is survived by her children: Gail (Loren) Messerschmidt, Glyndon, MN; Lee (Violet) Anderson, Mesa, AZ; grandchildren: Natalie Butenhoff, Breckenridge, MN; Lana Anderson-Kuchynski, Champlin, MN; Jason Anderson, West Fargo, ND; great-grandchildren: Brianna Butenhoff, Anthony and Logan Kuchynski, Dawson and Gage Anderson; great-great-granddaughter Allie; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, and her sister, Joyce Cornell.

Service: 1:00 p.m. – Thursday, February 9, 2012, at St. James United Church of Christ, Barnesville, Minnesota with visitation one hour before the services.
