She was born in Canton on August 29, 1956, the daughter of Keith R. and Mary (Cameron) Mayhew. She graduated from Canton Central School in 1974. In addition to playing the flute in the school band, Nancy was an athlete. She was especially proud to be a member of Canton's first girls' soccer team. In 1978, she received a BA degree in Social Work from Elmira College. She worked many years for L & M Sheet Metal Co. Most recently she was the co-owner of J & N Cleaning Service. A marriage to Mark Levasseur ended in divorce.
Surviving Nancy is a son, Michael Levasseur of Boston; a brother, Brian K. Mayhew and wife Angela of Mechanicsville; two sisters, Susan Feiden and husband Robert of Albany and Donna Coseo and husband Tom of Clarence; and her mother, Rita Mayhew of Canton.
