Born May 31, 1920 in the Bronx NY, Sidney was the son of the late Louis and Lena Greenwald.

After the family moved to Phila in the mid-1930's, Sidney was active in the Boy Scouts and he began a life-long interest in working with animals.

He was mustered out of the Navy in 1945 as a first class radioman, but stayed in the Navy Reserve and was commissioned at Lieutenant (Junior Grade) in 1949.

He returned to active duty during the Korean Was where he was stationed in Brooklyn New York in the Navy Supply Corps. Following the war he remained in the Reserves, eventually attaining the rank of Commander.

On April 16, 1952, he married Wanda Wright Kappel of Long Branch, NJ and became stepfather of Kathy Wright and William Martin Kappel.

The family then moved to Abington PA in 1952; where he began work with Jacob Reeds Clothiers, running one of their factories in Norristown. In the late 1950's Sidney switched careers and began work with the Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Phila. For the next 35 years, he was a Life Insurance Underwriter in the greater Phila area.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, July 16th at 11 A.M. at The Old York Road Temple-Beth Am, Old York Rd, Abington PA.
