Richard Guy Fincham, 76, died Thursday Dec. 14, 1961 at his farm west of Waterville, KS. He was born Sept. 23, 1885, son of William Sr. and Mary Ann Cobb Fincham, on a farm near Irving, Marshall County, KS and had resided in and around Waterville since he was 18 years old.
On June 5, 1907 he was united in marriage to Ethel May Hayward in Waterville, KS. For the first few year of marriage they lived south of Waterville on the Bryan farm, then north of Waterville. In 1919 they moved west of Waterville where they have resided until the time of his death.
In 1906 he became a member of the Pawnee Lodge 108.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Eva Samsel of Barnes, KS., Mrs. Freda Shaw of Waterville, and four sons, Morris Fincham of Topeka, KS; Luin Fincham of Wichita, KS; Raymond Fincham, Albuquerque, NM; and Leonard Fincham, Waterville and 12 grandchildren; Two sisters survive, Mrs. James Shaw of Waterville and Mrs. Margaret Ewing of Blue Rapids, KS and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him death were four sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services were held at the Waterville Methodist Church. Pawnee Lodge 108 was in charge at Riverside Cemetery with arrangements by Youngbergs.
