Former Mississippian Dies in New York Hospital After Long Illness
Funeral services for Dr. Owen W. Stone, 82, who passed away on Monday at the Army hospital, Brooklyn, N.Y., will be held in Greenwood cemetery this morning at 10 o’clock, the Rev. James N. Faulconer, pastor of the First Christian church, officiating. Services were first announced for Wednesday afternoon, but were later postponed.
Dr. Stone, former Washington county resident, and brother of the late Captain W. W. Stone, will be buried at the side of this wife. He was a member of the Christian church.
Survivors are: three daughters, Mrs. Spencer Akin, Port Monmouth, Mo., Mrs. Will H. Griffin, Moran, Wyoming, Mrs. Frank Lindsey, Atlanta, Ga., three grandchildren, a niece, Mrs. J. F. Robinson, North State street, Jackson, and a nephew, Alfred H. Stone of Dunlieth.
Pallbearers will be: John, Mitchell and McWillie Robinson, B. B. Wiggins, Sr., E. L. Trenholm and C. F. Lanier.
