Bonnie Jean Hein, 71, of Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, in Topeka, KS, following a battle with cancer. Visitation will be Monday, January 2, from 6-8 p.m., at Davis Funeral Chapel, 531 Shawnee St., Leavenworth, KS.
She is survived by her father, Edward Jennings, and by four daughters: Debbie Shannon (Jim), Sandy Ristow (Rick), Patti Hein (Ty Tummons), and Alicia Backlund. She's also survived by five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hein, and her mother, Dorothy Brooks Jennings.
Bonnie was born in Oskaloosa, KS, and lived most of her life in Basehor, KS. She worked as a hair-stylist and waitress, but spent most of her time as a wife and mother, raising her family. During her retirement years, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and was always ready to go out to lunch or dinner. Bonnie was a kind-hearted person, loved by those who knew her, and she will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Grace Hospice, 3715 SW 29th Street, Topeka, KS 66614.
