ADDITIONAL DETAILS - Lt. Jones and 2nd Lt. Carol Ann Elizabeth Drazba were assigned to the 3rd Field Hospital in Saigon. They both died in a helicopter crash near Saigon, February 18, 1966. Drazba was from Dunmore, PA, Jones from Allendale, SC. Both were 22 years old
On 18 Feb 1966, a UH-1B Huey (tail number 64-14188) of the 197th Assault Helicopter Company, 145th Combat Aviation Battalion, was on an administrative flight to Dalat when the aircraft struck a high-tension transmission line over a river in the vicinity of Bien Hoa. All seven persons aboard died in the crash:
