Ruth Danner Davis Watson
FLORIDA — Services for Ruth Danner Davis Watson (1923- March 27, 2013) will be held in Miami, Fla., where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Dick.

Ruth was born and raised in Cookeville. She was the oldest daughter of Sarah "Willie" Loftis Danner and James Elsie Danner.

She died of a stroke in Placerville, Calif., in the loving care of her daughter.

She graduated from Central High School in 1941, and from Tennessee Tech in 1945. She was married to William Davis while in Cookeville, where she lived and worked in a local bank for many years. In the mid 1950s, she packed her bags, took a train alone to Florida, where she met Richard B. "Dick" Watson. They had a daughter, Sara, a son, Brad, and were happily married for almost 50 years.

Dick passed in 1999, after which she met Walter Harms, and traveled the world. She was a beloved friend, sister, wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Danner and Bobby Danner.

They were all members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Donations can be made, in her name, to the American Cancer Society, of which she was an active member.
