"Lifelong Hinsdale Resident"

HINSDALE - Henry J. Bell of Flanigan Hill Rd. died Wednesday July 14, 2004 at the Olean General Hospital.

Born in Hinsdale, NY on December 4, 1921 he was a son of George and Jessie Flanigan Bell. On September 19, 1950 in Richburg, NY he married Eileen C. Putt who survives.

Mr. Bell served in the United State Army during WWII where he received the good conduct medal and the World War II victory medal. A lifelong Hinsdale resident,
Mr. Bell served as the Hinsdale Highway Superintendent for over 18 years. He was also employed for Alle-Catt Asphalt, retiring in March of 1984. Mr. Bell was an
avid turkey and deer hunter and was very accomplished at rebuilding and restoring Ford tractors. He enjoyed farming and gardening.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters; a son; an adopted son; a sister; three grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and several nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother James Bell, a granddaughter Michele Wilber and a grandson Kevin Wilber.

There will be no public visitations. Funeral and committal services will be private. Burial will be in Hinsdale Cemetery, Maplehurst, NY.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean
