Mrs. Otto Kruger Dies Wednesday
Mrs. Otto Kruger, 309 2nd Ave. SE, died Wednesday noon at the Waseca Memorial hospital. The sixty-nine year old woman had been ill with a heart ailment for the past year and was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning.
Helena Wilken was born in Germany Sept. 14, 1886, the daughter of Mr and Mrs. Dietrich Wilken. She came to this country when she was six years old with her family who settled on a farm near Meriden. She attended rural school in this county and was conformed March 31, 1901, at St. John’s Lutheran church in Waseca.
On November 21, 1907, she married Otto Kruger of Waseca in a ceremony performed by the Rev. Lofte at the St. John’s Lutheran church. The couple lived on a farm in Wilton township until they moved to Waseca 12 years ago. Mrs. Krueger was a widow, her husband having died ten years ago.
Surviving are four sons, Alvin, Martin and Ewald of Waseca, and Leonard of St. Paul, three daughters, Mrs. Leonard Ewert (Mamie), Mrs. Emery Fritz (Irene), both of Waseca, and Mrs. Lyle Kelling (Ella) of Otisco, and 25 grandchildren. One daughter, Viola Peterson died two years ago.
Funeral arrangements are not complete as yet, but they are being made through the Pfaff funeral home and friends may call there for information.
