Harold Seymore Edland was born in 1920 in Forbes, ND to Severin and Olga Edland. His father was a railroad man, and at about six years old, in 1926, Harold moved with his family to Benton, SD; then sometime between 1930 and 1935 moved again to Arlington. He grew up in Arlington, and by age 19, was registered as a "new worker," single, and living with his parents in the 1940 Census. He doesn't seem to have a 1945 SD Census card, suggesting he moved away, and he died young, on June 13, 1953 at about 33.
