Jessie's parents were John K. and Mary(Wheeler)Smith of VT.
She married Benjamin Lunt of Plattsburgh NY. 11/21/1877 NY at his sister Carrie's home in Mooers NY.They had a son Smith Paul Lunt born 1879 Plattsburgh.
Benjamin and Jessie seperated and Jessie married Benjamin F.Barker ae.53 3/3/1898 in Essex NY. They resided in Troy NY. his occupation is listed as a soldier, fought in the Civil War.
Her son Smith and his wife Grace Dora Link of Troy NY. had 3 children - Vernon b.1901,Lucille b.1904,William b.1906.
There is a story per Nettie Lakso of MI.That when Jessie's son Smith and wife seperated that Jessie took her grandson Vernon and took him to ILL. or CA. I found them living in North Dakota. There is no Benjamin Barker and Jessie is going by the name Jessie E. Lunt living in Alexander North Dakota. Vernon enlisted in WW1 in North Dakota. Jessie's son Smith was living in Seattle Washington and when he signed his draft card 9/12/1918 he listed his nearest relative as Jessie in North Dakota.
Nettie Lakso is the half sister of William brother of Vernon.

Jessie lived in Plattsburgh NY, Essex NY, Troy NY, traveled with son Smith 1905 to Kalamazoo MI, 1911-1912 maybe longer with Vernon to Omaha Nebraska, then to North Dakota where she d.1918
Also lived in Minnesota a few years 1890s..

Benjamin F. Barker b.1844 NY. Enlisted 8/26/1862 Hampton NY. age 18 Reg.Co.I transfered to Co.K discharged 11/9/1864. He lost a arm battle of the Wilderness.

Jessie has made researching this family very difficult and confusing she list her 1st husband Benjamin Lunt deceased. They seperated mid 1880s. Ive done a extensitive search and found him in OH. He moved there around 1887. He remarried 1894 and died 1919. I have his obit and death cert.
Jessie remarried 1898 to Benjamin Barker and then i find her 1905 in MI. with her son Smith Lunt going by Jessie Lunt again. Benjamin Barker and Jessie must of separated she is going by Lunt again. Benjamin Barker died 5/13/1907 Whitehall NY. buried Pawlet VT.
