Mr. Charles H. "Red" Robertson, 73, of Lanier Drive, Hartwell, died Friday, March 22 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born on May 18, 1939 in Bowersville GA, he was the son of the late James Herman Robertson and Evelyn Shiflet Robertson. He was retired from Tenneco Auto Equipment, where he worked for 39 years as a mechanical engineer. Mr. Robertson was a member of the Flat Shoals Baptist Church and had served in the Georgia Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife: Patsy Ray Robertson of the home; a daughter: Debbie Vickery and her companion Greg Ayers of Hartwell; a son: Jim Robertson and his wife Melinda of Canon; a son-in-law: Randy Vickery of Canon; a brother: Ervin Robertson of Bowersville; two grandchildren: Reece Vickery and Chad Vickery; two step-grandchildren: Jerry Massey and Jeremy Massey and four step great-grandchildren: Daphne Massey, Dayne Massey, Keleigh Massey and Devin Massey also survive.
Mr. Robertson was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Jerry Robertson.
Mr. Robertson wished to be cremated and a memorial service will be Tuesday, March 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Mike Fugate, Rev. Johnny Ashworth and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. The family is at their respective homes. Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Hart County Humane Society or to Autism research.
