Lucy was the wife of the Honorable Otis Norcross (1811-1882) who served as mayor of Boston.
She bore him 8 children but sadly by 1900, only three were surviving. She lived on until she was almost 100 and died in February of 1916. She is buried in plot 900
If you look at those four first children who died so young, you can feel the sorrow of these parents.
Their eight children were:
Otis Norcross Jr (1837-1841) He died of scarlet fever just a month short of his 5th birthday.
George Lane Norcross (1839-1840) He was about 1 year and 10 months old when he died of croup.
Lucy Ann Norcross (1841-1842) She died of croup at just 5 months old.
Maria Olivia Norcross (1843-1844) She was only 10 months old at her death.
Laura Norcross (1845-1928) At Last! She lived a long life.
Otis Norcross Jr (1848-1923) He was the second boy named Otis Jr and he lived to a good age.
Addison Norcross #85579552 (1850-1873) He died at 22 as a result of a wasting disease which may have been tuberculosis.
Granville Howland Norcross (1854-1937) He lived to 83.
