Zeb Blankenship, 85, widower of Nel Blankenship, passed on November 9, 2012. He is survived by four children, Kathleen B. Gilliland, Barbara (Mike) Hawkins, William Zeb "Chuck" (Kathy) Blankenship III and Col Benjamin Scott (Kristie) Blankenship, seven grandchildren, Matthew C. Sanders, Amanda Leah Cano, Lindsey K. Duvall, Christina Dorothy Spann, William Zeb "Billy" Blankenship IV, Abigail Kristina Blankenship and Elizabeth Ann Blankenship, five great grandsons. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, he was a member of the 1945 KY High School All Star Team, a graduate of the University of Kentucky where he was a member of the 1945-46 basketball team. Zeb was a member of the Sonlight Fellowship Church of God, served on the KHSAA Board from 1977-81 and as President from 1980-81, was a director with Bluegrass Rural Electric, President of Central Ky. Secondary School Principals and was a member of American Legion Post 63, he was a coach and taught in the school systems of Pike, Madison and Mercer Counties and was a principal in the Mercer and Jessamine Co. Schools. Services will be Noon Tuesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Buford. Burial will follow in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
