John B. Booher, son of John W. Booher and Viola Jane Parris Booher was born Nov. 6, near Bedford, Iowa. John was one of a family of 15 children. He moved with his parents to Harrison County, MO as a small boy, and lived most of his life there with the exception of nine years spend in Iowa. He was united in marriage to Ina C. Hook on June 12, 1920. Two daughters, Galilia and Melville came to bless this home. John worked as a farmer, trucker, and carpenter, and did various jobs during his life. John and Ina moved to their present home in New Hampton about three years ago and he enjoyed their garden and flowers. He enjoyed visiting with his many friends around town. John and Ina lived in Martinsville, MO for many years. He is survived by his wife Ina of the home; two daughters Galilia (Mrs. Ellis D. Hill) new Hampton and Mrs. Melville Davis of Kansas City, MO. Son-in-law Ellis D. Hill; three granddaughters, Mrs. Shirley Williams, Nancy Davis, Kansas City, MO, Mrs. Helen Nichols, Sugar Creek, MO; two grandsons Johnnie Davis stationed with the Marines at San Diego, California and Jimmie Davis stationed with the Army at Fort Belvoir, VA; two great grandchildren, four sisters, Carrie Rucker, Bethany, Dora Allen, Martinsville, Mo. Viola Chandler, Athelstain, Iowa, brothers, Paul Booher, Sidney, Iowa, George Booher of Athelstan, Iowa, and Rev. Virgil Booher of Hugoton, Kansas. John was preceded in death by his mother and father, and seven brothers and sisters, four died in infancy, his twin brother James E. Booher, brother Guy Booher; and sister Madge Barnett. He was also preceded in death by his grandson Donald Paul Davis, and son-in-law Louis J. Davis. After a few months illness with cancer John's life ended at the Noll Memorial hospital on April 17, 1969, at the age of 69 years, five months, and 11 days. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Sat. April 19, at the Noll Roberson funeral home in New Hampton with the Rev. James Collins officiating .Songs In the Garden and Beyond the sunset were sung by Jack and Donna Walker with Terri Thomas accompanist. Burial was in the Kidwell Cemetery Martinsville MO.
