PIEDMONT -- Funeral services for Mrs. Maude M. Smart Westbrook, 75, of Piedmont, Rt. 5, were held Saturday, July 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. B. L. Cox and Rev. Joe Martin officiating. Burial was in Union Grove Cemetery at Rock Run with Gray-Brown-Service Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Westbrook died at her home Wednesday, July 25, 1962, at 2:00 p.m. after a brief illness.
Survivors include one son, Eugene Westbrook of Piedmont; seven daughters, Mrs. Vera Maners of High Point, N.C., Mrs. William McElwee of Gadsden, Mrs. Edgar Smith of Henderson, NV, Mrs. Charles Muller of Selma, Mrs. Lois Taylor of Piedmont, Mrs. Gerald Albea of Greensboro, N.C., and Mrs. Otto Pelzer of Decatur, Georgia; four brothers, John Smart of Cave Springs, Georgia, Lonnie Smart, Claude Smart, and R. B. Smart, all of Piedmont; 19 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
