Funeral services will be held Friday, March 15, 2013 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Diana Joan Quebedeaux Braquet, age 66, the former Diana Quebedeaux, who passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 8:05 p.m. at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette.
Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro. The Rev. Bill Melancon, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Mrs. Braquet was a native of Grand Coteau and a resident of Carencro. She was a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro, where she served as a lector. Mrs. Braquet was also a member of the Bonne Mort Society, St. Anne Society, Ladies Altar Society and Sacred Heart League.
Survivors include her husband of forty three years, Carrol John Braquet of Carencro; three children, Simone Braquet Trappey and her husband, Michael, Jeremi Braquet and his wife, Danielle, all of Carencro and Jene' Braquet Hernandez and her husband, Richard, of Lafayette; and eight grandchildren, Ty Foreman, Payton Schexnayder, Evan Hernandez, Madelaine "Maddie" Braquet, Macy Hernandez, Joseph Trappey, Amelie Trappey and Andrew Trappey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kermick Quebedeaux and the former Frances Arnaud; and two sisters, Magdeline Meche and Annette Barake'.
Pallbearers will be Jeremi Braquet, Richard Hernandez, Michael Trappey, Ty Foreman, Payton Schexnayder and Evan Hernandez.
Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, 4615 North University Avenue, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements.
