Edward, a resident of Ranchitos, passed away at home surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his parents José and Ida Maestas; wife Sherry; brother Joey Maestas; and also by his horse "Rags".
Edward was survived by son Eddie Maestas (wife Priscilla); daughter Valerie Maestas; grandchildren: Eddie Jr., Mia and Jonah; mother of his children Mary Ann Maestas; stepdaughters: Latisha O'Dell (Tom) and Kerri Armstrong (Justin); step-grandchildren: Dylan Anderson and Thomas O'Dell; favorite uncle Lee Espinoza; several nieces, nephews and many other relatives.
Edward retired from the State of New Mexico where he was an accountant. He was a former City Councilor. He was an entrepreneur and enjoyed his retirement spending time with his horses, cars and going to the casino.
Visitation and Wake service were on March 14, 2013 at the Rivera Family Funeral Home Chapel in Española. Mass of Christian burial was on March 15, 2013 at Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Interment followed in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers: David Gonzáles, Dominic Gonzáles, Leo Márquez, Angel Valdés, Chris Ortiz and Andrew Chávez.
