Irene was a real estate agent and also ran a tax service in California City, CA. She died of cancer, which was widespread in her body, but which she fought for over three years. She suffered greatly, especially the last half-year. Her body was cremated.
Irene and her husband Alvin (each married only once) were married July 1, 1937 in Loup City, Nebraska. They had three children:
1. An unnamed infant son who was stillborn in about 1942 in Kentfield, California He was a so-called "blue-baby."
2. Richard Eugene, born July 6, 1944 in Kentfield, CA, and died July 9, 2004 in Springdale, Arkansas. Cremated.
3. Larry Dean Carlsen, Sr., born Sept. 9, 1946 in Ross, California.
