LaVern L. Eager passed away September 4, 1997 in Lancaster after a long illness. He was born Oct. 23,1918 in Rapidam, Minnesota.
LaVern served 20 years in the Army and retired as sergeant major in 1963. He was a member of the Jefferson City American Legion. After retiring from the Army he worked the Jefferson City School District. He was a member of California City Desert Song Foursquare Church.
LaVern is survived by his wife Patricia who resides in California City; his daughter Judy Phillips of Centertown, Missouri; two granddaughters Stacy Schulte and Teresa Phillips of Jefferson City; a stepson Alan Hansen and great grandson Zachary Hansen both of Merced, Calif.; and three great granddaughters of Jefferson City, Missouri.
Graveside services were held Sept. 9 in California City with Pastor Frank Bachara officiating.
