BORON — Funeral services were held December 21 for Ferris L. 'Ted" Bynum, who passed away December 16 in Lancaster.
Mr. Bynum retired in 1981 after a career in education. He was in charge of adult education and the continuation school at Boron High School, was principal at Gephart Junior High, and served as a vice-principal in Moorpark.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and lived in Boron for 37 years.
Mr. Bynum was born September 11, 1912, in Frederick, Oklahoma.
He was a member of the Boron Lions Club, Boron Chamber of Commerce, and the Boron Bible Church.
He is survived by Frances, his wife of 29 years, daughter Ellen Ann Matthews, of Stafford, Virginia; sons Teddy L. Bynum, Johnny T. Bynum, and Benny J. Bynum, all of Boron, and Jerry L. Bynum of Manteca, and by eight grandchildren.
Services were conducted by Pastor Phillip Johnson of the Boron Bible Church. Interment was in the Mojave Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Stickel Mortuary of Mojave.
