Reba Holidy, 75, longtime California City resident passed away on March 26, 1996 in Lancaster
Reba was born November 16, 1920 in Smithville, Tennessee, to William and Bertha Adcock. Her family moved to Huntsville, Alabama, when she was a small child.
After moving to California City in 1973 with her husband Floyd and her sister Georgia Ruth Suit, Reba worked in a number of the restaurants in California City. Everyone she worked for thought very highly of her and often praised her.
She was a member of the Moose Lodge, where she earned her cap and gown, which was a great honor for her. As long as her health permitted, Reba loved to work outdoors in the garden and yard.
Reba is mourned by her sisters, Sara O'Conner, and Georgia Ruth Suit of California City; Vera Johnson, La Habra, California; Ana Mae Yougoda, Spokane, Washington; Wilma Nokas, Centralia, Washington; and Dorothy Hamontree, Mills, Wyoming; and by her brother, Elbert Adcock, New Market, Alabama. Both parents and one brother preceded her in death.
She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews to mourn her passing. Reba will be missed greatly by her many friends. Pastor Curtis O'Brien led Reba to the Lord on March 23, 1996.
Pastor Curtis O'Brien and Pastor Emeritus Arthur Helton officiated at the funeral service which was held on March 30, 1996 at 1 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of California City with burial in the California City Memorial Park under the direction of Stickel Mortuary.
