Vada married John Nuckols Blount on July 8, 1896 in Christian County, Illinois. Vada and John had two known children, Maria Amelia and Manford Allen. John had two known sons from his first marriage to Susan Elizabeth Crowner: James Robert and Frederick W.

Vada and John were living in separate locations by 1910. In 1920, Vada was living in Texas with her daughter Geneva (also found as Genevieve) and Geneva's husband, Clare Sterling Humphreys.
