ALTHEA NETTIE (HARGER) MURRAY, 75, widow of John Douglas Murray of Manchester, died Sunday (Jan 14) at a local nursing home. Born in Hartford, she had lived there before moving to Manchester 40 years ago. Before retiring in 1985, she was employed by Hartford Telephone Credit Union for 27 years.
Mrs. Murray was a member of Clowns of America, Alley No. 8146 known as "ALFIE".
She was a member of the Manchester Historical Society and was a member of the Ladies Auxillary, VFW, Manchester. She also volunteered for the Splash Program in Enfield and with the SNET Telephone Pioneers.
Funeral will be Friday, (June 19), 11 a.m., at the Samuel & Carmon Funeral Home in South Windsor. Burial will be in Soldiers Field also in South Windsor. Her family will receive friends, Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
