LILLIAN'S SON SLOAN REMEMBERS:
My Mother Lillian, had polio when she was just a baby. The doctor thought she was dying and they left her lying on the kitchen table, and they went into another room. My grand mother was going to do a washing and had tubs of water on the floor. When they came back to the kitchen my mother was sitting in one of the tubs splashing and having a great time. One of my mother's feet was smaller because of the Polio and she stuffed cotton in the toe of the shoe to make it fit.
