RALPH'S SON SLOAN REMEMBERS:
My Father, Ralph Artemas Harger, was born on a farm on Day Street in Granby, CT. I do not know his mother or father's name. They had both died before I was born. My Father said there were Hargers from Naugatuck who were Hydraulic Engineers. I guess that meant they built saw mills or grist mills or operated them. He said there were a couple of them named Jabez. There were two brothers named Loomis in Granby who had a General Store. One of them was Granby's first millionaire and the other started the Loomis school in Windsor. It was said that their mother was a Harger. Harriet Harger Loomis

RALPH'S SON SLOAN REMEMBERS:
My Father went to a one room school that was on the corner of the Notch on the State border. One Winter he went to school early evey morning to start the fire, They gave him a pair of skiis for his work. A few years ago that school was moved down to Granby and it stands with the Eaton House on Hop Meadow Street.
