Ira Bell, formerly a citizen of Granby, died Saturday at the Woodman Sanitarium in Colorado from tuberculosis. He was born in Granby in 1854, and lived there until about ten years ago when he moved to Diamond. He was engaged in the grocery business in Granby in partnership with J.H. Hughes and also with Mr. Scott. He engaged in the hotel business at Diamond but stayed there only three years then going to Joplin where he went into the grocery business again. He leaves a wife and eight children, five boys and three girls, all now grown to manhood and womanhood. Mr. Bell was an excellent citizen and was highly esteemed at
Granby where he was best known. The body was taken back to Granby for interment and the funeral was held Tuesday afternoon.
