Olean, NY - Carole L. Hurley, 64, of 350 Front St. Aspen Towers died Monday (July 28, 2003) in the Olean General Hospital after a long illness.

Born December 5, 1938 in Westfield, NY she was the daughter of Glenn A. and Elizabeth A. Arnold Grover.

Mrs. Hurley was a 1956 graduate of Dunkirk High School and had resided in Olean since 1972. She was employed by the former A&P Grocery Store in Olean and later worked for 10 years for the Olean Times Herald, retiring in 1985.

She was a member of St. John's Church and the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed reading, following sports and doing ceramics.

Surviving are 1 son James Hurley of Hamburg, NY; 5 daughters Kelly Neff of Hillsdale, NJ, Kathy Kiffer and Karen (Shawn) Branch, both of Olean, Kristen (John) Gillespie of Wayne, PA and Kim Eaton of Bradford, PA; 15 grandchildren; 2 brothers George Grover of Las Vegas, NV and Ed (Pat) Grover of Hebron, OH and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm in the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean where a prayer service will be held Thursday (July 31, 2003) at 9:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00am in St. John's Church. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
