John Francis Fife II born 1907 to John Francis (Frank) Fife and Caroline Eliza (Carrie) Patterson. He was one of five children born to J Frank and Carrie. His brothers and sisters were: Jeanne, Jay, Katherine and Edna. The family lived in St. Clair Twp, Allegheny County, PA in the area that John's forefathers had farmed since the 1760's.

On October 29, 1927, John married Ruth Brown of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, PA. Together they had six children: John (Jack), Norman, Beverly, Patricia, Barbara and Kenneth. They lived in St. Clair Twp and eventually moved to Bethel Park, PA. He was a bus driver for Greyhound Lines for most of his adult life.

John, died in January of 1965. Ruth lived with her son, Jack, and then eventually lived with her daughter, Beverly, until the time of her death in 1984. John had 18 grandchildren at the time of his death.
