On August 1, 2002, Jefferson James Campbell passed away at his home. A long time resident of Fremont Valley, Mr. Campbell was born May 5, 1923 in Empalme, Mexico. He was a World War II veteran and a retired Los Angeles City fireman.
Preceding him in death were his parents George H. Campbell and Laura A. Lesser, two brothers, George L. and Earl Campbell.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Jackson Campbell; sons Kenneth J. Campbell, Jeffery G. Campbell, and wife Maudi of Lancaster, California, David C. Campbell and wife Kathy of Lucerne; grandchildren, Betty Jo Brown and husband Tom of Lancaster, Billie Jean Henson and husband Steve, Jaimie Campbell and wife Kristyn, all of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, David C. Campbell and wife Melissa of Tucson, Arizona, William Campbell and wife Amy, Angel Crnek and husband Robert, all of Bullhead City, Arizona, Elizabeth Cabral and husband Christopher of Santa Clarita, Jaylene Cook and husband Michael of Lancaster: six great-grandsons, Jared, Nicolas and Vincent Campbell, Ryan and Aaron Cabral and Danny Jordan Crnek, five great-granddaughters, Leighana Henson, Angelica Crnek, Lyssa Marie Campbell and twins Adina and Rena Cook. Also a step-great granddaughter Amber Crnek and two step-great grandsons Timmy and Zachary Brown. A visitation was held on August 5, 2002 at Halley-Olsen-Murphy Memorial Chapel in Lancaster. Private interment was held at Desert Lawn Memorial park Palmdale.
