Harley Edward Hart, 95, of Ottumwa, died at 10 pm on February 20, 2013 at Vista Woods Care Center.

He was born March 6, 1917 in Eldon to Dessie Edward and Minnie Canny Hart. He married Emily Lucille Giles on September 16, 1935. She preceded him in death on September 15, 1990. He later married Wilhelmina Miller. She preceded him in death on August 29, 2006. He attended school in Eldon. He was employed by Burlington Northern Railroad Company as a lovomotive engineer, until his retirement.

He was a member of Ottumwa Masonic Lodge #16 A.F.& A.M., Clinton Chapter #9, Ottumwa Council #31, Malta Commandery #31, Davenport Consistory Club, and was past president of Burlington Northern Auxiliary. He was a member of Silver Strings and Sundowners music groups.

Surviving is a daughter, Jacquelyn(Lloyd)Murphy of Ottumwa; his daughter-in-law, Beverly Hart of Ottumwa; nine grandchildren, Lloyd Edward(Jane)Hart of Columbia, MO, Hether M.(Steve)Graham of Ottumwa, Kenneth Eugene Dudley of Oswego, IL, Frederick Lee(Penny)Dudley of Ottumwa, Terri(Kendall)Taylor of Eldon, Vikki Dudley of Ottumwa, Gary(Sheryl)Brewer of Des Moines, Jeffery Murphy of Truman, MN and Phillip Murphy of Ottumwa; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Dickens and Alice(Jerry)Yarrington both of Princeton, IL; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kenneth Edward Hart; a daughter, Beverly Jean Brewer, seven brothers, Orville E., Ernest H., Dess Junior, Harold L., Carl F., Vernon Eugene and Stanley Hart; three sisters, Pauline Lyons, Mabel Colwell and Maxine Hart.

Funeral services will be 10 am Monday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Rightler officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Visitation begins at 11 am Sunday with the family present from 2-4 pm Sunday. Masonic services will be 4 pm. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice serving Wapello and Davis Counties, Ottumwa, IA. or Shriners Hospitals for Children Houston, TX.
