Maggie Bell Washington Mitchell

Mrs. Maggie Bell Washington Mitchell, 77, resident of the Midway community near Vaiden, died of a stroke Thursday, July 30, 1992 at Pemberton Manor Nursing Home in Greenwood. She was the wife of Sammie Mitchell.

A native of Carroll County, Mrs. Mitchell was a retired homemaker and a member of the Midway Methodist Church.

Funeral services were conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 2 at Ed Roberts Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Clevern Robinson officiating. Burial followed in the Midway Methodist Church Cemetery near Vaiden.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her husband, Sammie Mitchell of Midway, five sons, W.S. Mitchell of Montgomery, Texas, R.B. Mitchell of Little Rock, Arkansas, Harvey D. Mitchell of Silver Hill, Alabama, Walter Joe Mitchell of Bristol, Tennessee and Eddie Otha Mitchell of Vicksburg; six daughters, Mrs. Bessie B. Fleming of Jasper, Alabama, Mrs. Margaret Coker of Vaiden, Mrs. Lee Annie Cooper of Foley, Alabama, Miss Milverta Mitchell of New Haven, Connecticut, Mrs. Betty Jean White and Mrs. Addie B. Hood, both of Maulden, Missouri; two brothers, Johnnie Washington of Columbus, Georgia and Leamon Washington of Brandon; two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Jones of Winona and Mrs. Lucille Kerish of Brandon; and 41 grandchildren.

Roberts and Sons Mortuary of Winona was in charge of arrangements.
